Tennessee Urban Forestry Council encourages the establishment of regional chapters to support its mission and bylaws. The West Tennessee chapter was established in 2004.

2010
Held Second Day of Caring at The Children's Museum of Memphis. West TN TUFC and tree care company members from Woodland Tree Service, Follis Tree Preservation, Red's Tree Care, and McLaughlin Tree Service chipped in to help out to the tune of an estimated $5,000-$6,000 of tree work. WTUFC presented to an 18 member Government delegation from China's Guangdong province on Urban Forestry in West Tennessee. May 2010, WTUFC partnered with Clean Memphis and TDOT to plant trees in the Lamar/240 cloverleaf. Held it's first tree sale. Ten articles printed in the Commercial Appeal focusing on TUFC efforts in the community. WTUFC doubled its budget by fundraising in conjunction with State Board and local partners.
2009
Formed a Projects Committee. Outreached to nine organizations and hosted a Day of Caring, donating $10,000 to $12,000 in arbor care and started a proper mulching technique campaign.
